Originaire de Dalmatie, en Croatie, Martina GULAN porte en elle les \u00e9chos de la mer Adriatique, des plages de galets, des pins maritimes et des montagnes escarp\u00e9es qui ont marqu\u00e9 son enfance. Ces paysages sauvages et contrast\u00e9s exercent une influence majeure sur son \u00e9volution artistique. Tout comme le fait de jouer du piano depuis l’\u00e2ge de 6 ans.

Martina a effectu\u00e9 des recherches et \u00e9tudi\u00e9 les neurosciences, qui l’occupent depuis de nombreuses ann\u00e9es. Conjointement \u00e0 ces peintures elles-m\u00eames, elle nous en propose \u00e9galement une explication et pr\u00e9sente leur signification, ainsi qu’une proposition d’une th\u00e9orie de l’esth\u00e9tique bas\u00e9e sur des fondements biologiques. En outre, elle probl\u00e9matise la relation entre l’artiste lui-m\u00eame et ses \u0153uvres ; en comprenant et en acceptant la dualit\u00e9 de l’artiste \u00e0 qui l’acte de cr\u00e9er de l’art conf\u00e8re le r\u00f4le \u00e0 la fois de participant \u00e0 la cr\u00e9ation (actif) et d’observateur de son propre travail (passif).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Citoyenne du monde, Martina GULAN a v\u00e9cu \u00e0 Vienne, en Autriche, et \u00e0 Grenade, en Espagne. Aujourd’hui, elle partage son temps entre Paris et Zagreb, o\u00f9 elle travaille en tant qu’artiste ind\u00e9pendante, \u00e0 la fois dans les m\u00e9dias traditionnels et num\u00e9riques. Polyglotte, elle parle couramment l\u2019anglais, l\u2019allemand, l\u2019espagnol et apprend le fran\u00e7ais, ce qui traduit une ouverture au monde qui transpara\u00eet dans sa d\u00e9marche. Son travail, ancr\u00e9 dans une r\u00e9flexion sur l\u2019imaginaire et la transformation des r\u00e9alit\u00e9s, s\u2019impose comme un miroir po\u00e9tique de nos perceptions contemporaines, oscillant entre l\u2019intime et l\u2019universel.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n

Originally from Dalmatia, Croatia, Martina carries within her the echoes of the Adriatic Sea, pebble beaches, maritime pines and steep mountains that marked her childhood. These wild and contrasting landscapes had major influence on her artistic evolution. As did playing piano since the age of 6.
A versatile painter who implements into her artistic work, elements from many other spheres of human existence, especially from science and music.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Imagination is not a simple escape into the unreal, but a profound and exploratory force.<\/em>

Among her major inspirations, brain neuroplasticity <\/strong>– the subject of her master’s thesis – occupies a central place.<\/em><\/summary>\n

Martina researched and studied neuroscience, which has occupied her for many years. Along with the paintings themselves, she also offers us an explanation of them and presents their meaning, along with a proposal of a theory of aesthetics based on biological foundations, i.e. biology. In addition, she problematizes the relationship between the artist itself and its works; understanding and accepting the duality of the artist to whom the act of creating art gives the role of both a participant in the creation (active) and an observer of his own work (passive).<\/em><\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n

Paintings are extremely interestingly conceived with a strong scientific and theoretical base. <\/em><\/summary>\n

Artistically and technically impeccably placed and made, with strong raw and primary colors, with \u00ab\u00a0masculine\u00a0\u00bb strokes and without excessively emphasized tonal gradation. Here Martina reached the very peak of her creativity, and one would not expect that the same, mentioned \u00ab\u00a0male\u00a0\u00bb hand, can easily transform into \u00ab\u00a0something completely different\u00a0\u00bb.<\/em>
With the most sophisticated tonal transitions, she creates completely figurative images, which with their power, ideas and themes can easily enter the top of the world contemporary paintings. The paintings that at first glance take your breath away just by their artistry, where it is not necessary to know the name of the work, nor to understand their message. Just to look at them. \u00a0And isn’t that the first and basic task of painting?<\/em><\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n

Martina is an extremely well-read and self-aware person who does not do anything by chance. And when the paintings look completely simple with simple themes and messages, it is anything but.<\/em><\/summary>\n

A citizen of the world, Martina GULAN has lived in Vienna, Austria, and Granada, Spain. Today, she divides her time between Paris and Zagreb, where she works as an independent artist, both in traditional and digital mediums. Her multidisciplinary training \u2013 music school, economy graduate and an MBA from Webster University in Vienna \u2013 as well as her work experience in telecommunications and graphic printing industry, further enrich her artistic approach.<\/em>
A polyglot, she speaks fluent English, German, Spanish and is learning French, which reflects an openness to the world that shines through in her approach. Her work, anchored in a reflection on imagination and the transformation of realities, stands out as a poetic mirror of our contemporary perceptions, oscillating between the intimate and the universal.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n
